    3. I knew a William Mintz in Millville, NJ Cumberland Cty. He was the town insurance agent and owned his own agency called William R. Mintz. His wife was sickly if I remember right and couldn't have children. They adopted a child at one point. He was a very kind gentleman that would buy me things and one time bought me a plane ticket to California to visit my father. This was much later than the date you have, it was around 1970's. It was Helen that my mother and uncle come from. My uncle Robert's children are Judith Helen and John Everett. Judith is the older of the two and I think she was born in '79. John came along in the early 80's somewhere. Neither is married. I was born in 1961 and the oldest. Mother is Virginia, father is Peter. Last name was Wehner. Both parents remarried at some point, and my father's wife is Judith. My mother's last name now is Long, and she's widowed. My last name is currently Stephens. There are no children. My sister, as I said, has 3 boys. Her name is Patricia Schneider. Patty was born in 1965. Her 3 boys are Marc Everett Roch (age 17) (from her 2nd husband) and then there is Joshua Kevin Schneider (age 13) and Peter John Schneider (age 10). She is cureently separated from husband #3. (there are no plans to reconcile) My Grandfather did teach in Millville, at the senior high school, as did Alice. And now, my sister teaches there. My email address is: AprilBaby61@juno.com. I am curious to know if you've been able to connect any of our line to the line of Francis Scott Key. Grandfather always said we were descended from him, but as of yet, he doesn't even hook up in the tree anywhere. There may be some cousins, which would be great to prove some sort of relationship. Even if there is no connection, trying to find the family history is fun. -Terry Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. I don't believe the Civil War stones were vandalized. They were fine as of April when I was last there. The vandalization that I heard about last was in a different section. The article mentioned something about lettering, so I was wondering if they were fixing the 'paint pen' fixing job that was done last year.. -andrea On Mon, May 19, 2008 at 8:58 AM, <inn118@aol.com> wrote: > > I believe this historic graveyard has been vandalized several times in the > past. > Thankfully things are being restored. 3. Hi everyone, I saw this in the Bridgeton News this week and thought I'd pass it along for anyone in the area. -andrea -- "On June 7, from 8 a.m. to noon, the First Presbyterian Church invites everyone to come to clean up the cemetery at the Old Broad St. Church. "Each year, more progress is being made to help the old cemetery regain its original elegance and pride. "Volunteers are encouraged to bring weed-whackers and chain saws, as well as clippers of all kinds. "Thanks to the generosity of J&S Agway Home and Garden, there will be gloves, rakes and mowers available. "They are kept in the caretaker's cottage that was carefully renovated by Bob Thompson and his crew two years ago. "We will need strong arms to help some of the old tombstones stand erect again, too. "This is an opportunity for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to help make our community more beautiful and to aid in restoring a widely recognized historic site.'' -- Merry Woodruff -- Cumberland County Genealogists can order a 2 CD set of high resolution photographs of the original records of the Old Cohansey Baptist Church at Roadstown! I have C. Everett as being married twice; once to Rebecca (unknown maiden name) & once to Helen Hay. Which one of his wives had the children & can you fill me in the last names of all those you've mentioned in your posting, including your Dad? I am posting on an online family tree site called www.geni.com, which you can go online & join for free, if you wish to. It might help you to find your geneology again. I will add the names in that you gave me, including yours & then invite you to join: I'll need your email address. My mother spoke often about Alice & C. Everett but she never visited them as far as I know. She even showed me where Alice lived once when she & I were driving all over Cumberland County photo-documenting places she's lived as a child & young married woman. My mom never had any compunctions about "dropping in" on people, so I don't know why she didn't drop in on Alice while we were in the nieghborhood. My grandfather did not seem to be close with the rest of his family, except for his sisters Lulu & Bessie. He & my grandmother did take care of his mother & father during their elder years & when his father died, his mother came to live with him. (She died at their home right before I was born). When she was young, my mother went to school in Millville where Everett either taught or was principal. I am wracking my brain to think of the name of the school, but can't come up with it right now. FYI: Charles isn't the only "black sheep". Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
