However, being interested in the Chester family, if it is Sarah Chester buried there then I would also be interested in Samuel Springer. However, I know that one of my Sarah Chester's nieces married a McCarty. So once again, even if it is a Sarah McCarty buried there, I would probably be interested in this union. So I guess what I am boiling it all down to, is that if you have information on any of these people I would be interested: Sarah Chester/Sarah McCarty and Samuel R. Springer (however many there may be). Thanx

Bill, The 1790, 1800, 1810, and 1820 census records have been lost for New Jersey. There is a 1800 census just for Cumberland county and tax lists. Here's what I found searching on www.ancestry.com<http://www.ancestry.com/> for Levi Bond: There is a Levi Bond on the 1840 census age 20-30 and presumably his wife, age 20-30. There is no Levi Bond on the 1830 census, so the Levi Bond listed on tax lists below could have been Levi Bond Senior, and he probably died before 1830. Possibly his son, Levi Bond, is married and shows on the 1840 census in Cumberland County. I was born in 54 and always remember it being there. My grandparents and other relatives are buried there. However, my great and GG grandparents are buried in Broad street Cemetery. I consider it an old cemetery. It was opened about 1795 and closed due to being sold out in the 1950s. Check it out at www.co.cumberland.nj.us look in facts and history. Another good site for local history is www.cchistsoc.org look in the virtual library. Unfortunatly, I don't know of any transcription of those buried there. I don't know where Cornwell Drive got its name, but it was probably from a resident. It is in a rural area of Upper Deerfield township.
Thank you for looking. Probably most of those VANAMANs and various spellings are all connected to the immigrant Jan Garretson Van Jumme who came from the Netherlands and died in 1707 in Gloucester Co. Many of the descendants migrated to Cumberland Co. Through the generations the surname has changed to a variety of spellings. I was especially interested in this posting because of it having a street named Cornwell running past the cemetary and several Cornwell ancestors showed up around the Bridgeton area in the late l700's. Especially William. I'm looking for a Daniel who didn't die there, but showed to be born in NJ on an OH census, with a census in Deerfield, Cumberland, NJ showing a Daniel living there with a wife and child, then nothing later since he showed up in Clermont OH, afterward, where he died bef: l830. I have found some Daniel Cornwells in that area, but not with a Phoebe.(?) I wonder if maybe he had a wife die before marryiing Phoebe, maybe. Maybe there's a stone somewhere with a "wife of" Daniel Cornwell with no Daniel there...with perhaps a child if she died in childbirth (?) Thanks for keeping this in mind, anyone who's "visiting" the ancestors around there.

Hi Carol, Thanks for the replay. I do have this information but appreciate your looking. I don't have much on my Christianna Souder other than her parents are Simon Souder m.
