Son of ALEXANDER HENRY and JANE HENRY (formerly SIMPSON) Brother to MARGARET HENRY. Brother to ELIZA JANE HENRY (who married JOHN MC CLEERYand had a daughter Saran Ann who died in 1868/69.) He was married in Glasgow in 1858 to HELEN WATSON Daughter of JOHN WATSON (or WASSON) and HELEN (formerly MC CULLOCH) sister to HENRY WATSON married to NANCY who may have gone to India. They had a son called JOHN HENRY born 20th March 1862 and two other children that had died by 1869 and were buried St Georges Church Hulme. ALEX HENRY went to America between the years 1865 and 1867 to make his fortune. He had his own business for a while, little was heard from him, though I have letters to his wife Helen or Ellen as he called her who then lived with his mother in Salford England. I'm sure he was living or knew family (either Simpson's or Henry's) who were living in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1869. The letters stopped coming and nothing more was heard from him again. Does anyone know anything? Please email me at [email protected] or post message

Hi All, I have 2 new books and I will be happy to do look ups. Please only ask for 3 names at a time. You can write to me as many times as you'd like, but I can only handle 3 names at a time. Thanks. 1 "GLOUCESTER CO IN THE CIVIL WAR". This booklet includes many. many, many names of wounded, missing and killed from several regiments and lots of companies. 2 "HISTORY OF THE MEN OF CO. F" Marches and Battles of the 12th NJ volunteers. Contains mini biographies of the many of the soldiers. An interesting list in this book is the names of soldiers who are buried in national cemeteries. Pam Currie

When I used "copy & past" I copied the wrong message. The following is more up to date. Still searching for the parents of William Taylor, 1759-1847, who is buried in Wescott Free Cemetery, Main St, Mays Landing, NJ. His tombstone is difficult to read, his birth may have been in 1759 (from cemetery records in historical society). The Methodist Church burned down about 1880 with records. His wife may be Ann. I believe his marriage was in 1781 and first daughter was born in 1793. One son was Edmund, buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery, another son, John. Another son was Alexander Taylor, a blacksmith, who lived at "Kate's Landing", Mays Landing, named after his wife, Katy Pfifer. Alexander was the father of John Pennington Taylor. These people had large and interesting families. Most of this early Taylor family were buried in those two cemeteries. I've done extensive research on this family but can get no further back than William, my 4th ggrandfather. I have been told that William may have come from the Cape May County George Taylor family but can find no proof so far. We strongly suspect he may have come from England or Scotland. Family lore is he was English. If anyone can help with this query on William, I would be glad to share. TIA. Sandy researching: ADAMS, TAYLOR, SMITH, SHERRY, STEELMAN, PEACHEY, LEACH, SCULL, WALDRON, WRIGHT, BIRNEY, O'HARA, STENSON

Hi Dick, I did a search for Kille, then Kelly, then Kelley with Delaware River in it and came up with an archive article. Is it possible this was in Delaware -- just across the river from NJ? Check this article and in the 12 th paragraph it describes area of Delaware that includes Kelley Island (could have been a point). Hope this is a clue for your searches. Regards, Joan _http://www.accessible.com/amcnty/DE/Delaware/delaware1.htm_ (http://www.accessible.com/amcnty/DE/Delaware/delaware1.htm) In a message dated 1/24/2005 11:58:19 AM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Good morning, I really could use a little help on this one. Does anyone have any information on a place called Kille's Point, which I understand was changed to Kelly's Point. It is/was suppose to be somewhere along the Delaware River. It also was suppose to have been named after one or all four of the Kille brothers who were to have landed sometime in the 1600's. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you and have a great day.
