    3. Andrea, The Bridgeton Baptist Cemetery records were published in vols. 34-39 in The Vineland Historical Magazine. I have copied the records, and looked through for Loper family members and found the following: vol. 37, p. 27 9th Sec. William H. Loper. Old grave, 5 1/2 ft., common stone Albert E., son of William M. & Margaret Loper, d. Aug. 13, 1858, age 19. Two graves with common stones. vol. 37 p. 29 9th Sec. Abraham Loper. "Morris Bassett in the 1/4 Section on the South side of the 2nd walk in the 16th Row." Sexton's boo. Rebecca, w. of Morris Bassett, July 10, 1804 - April 25, 1889 Morris Bassett, July 15, 1800 - Nov. 18, 1874 First East and West Walk 5th Sec. John Loper John Loper, Sen. d. Jan. 10, 1862 in 70th y. Mary, w. of John Loper, d. Oct. 28, 1880 in 88th y. vol. 38 p. 49 First East and West Walk 7th Sec. John Loper, Phila. John Loper, Sergeant Co. D, 214th Regt. Penna. Vols., d. July 13, 1903, aged 72 yrs. Long sunken grave, no stones. These are not indexed, so I had to go page by page through them looking for Loper families. I hope I did not miss any. The Lummis Library should have these volumes. Mary E. V. I drove 2 hrs to Bridgeton on Friday and found out from the Sheppard Papers at the Lummis Library that my 3rd great grandfather and 3 other family members are buried in the cemetery at Bridgeton Baptist. The folks at the library told me I shouldn't go there because it wasn't a good part of town, so I didn't. I was trying to see if anyone had indexed the cemetery, but I can't seem to find a listing. Does it go by another name? Info I have: Abraham Loper bought the plot July 10, 1853. (I know he died 1865) Buried in there are (according to the records they had at the library): Abraham Loper A. Loper A. Loper + son Son is Jacob Loper (I'm pretty sure). Abraham's wife Rachel was also said to be in there in the Sheppard papers. I'm trying to figure this out and any help/guidance would be appreciated. thanks! -andrea ============================== Find your ancestors in the Birth, Marriage and Death Records. 3. Orville, I have a possible connection with your Nathaniel. I have a Nathaniel Champion who was born 30 March 1841 in Cape May County, died 1887 and is buried in Calvary Baptist Cemetery in Ocean View. I have no info on his parents, but it is possible that his father was also named Nathaniel Champion. On 29 October 1863 in Dennisville, this Nathaniel married Mary Grace, born 27 January 1847, daughter of Levi Grace and Mary Fisher. I do not have her death date. Nathaniel and Mary's birth dates were found in the Nathaniel Champion and Mary Grace Bible record. The Bible is in the possession of the Cape May Historical Society. All of his son's and daughters lived on a road named Hesstown Road from PT /Elizabeth to RT 49 I have a map of the old home foundations of my original family. It has just been recently that my daughter and I would like to erect a sign for little historical Hesstown on the spot there. It is still on all of our SJ maps you know. Some of the stones in the Cemetery at the church are not legible and one of those is my great grandfather's. Recently within the last two weeks my son in law has been contacted to do some electrical work in that church. There is a female minister officiating there presently. 3. I am sending this to both Monmouth and Ocean county, because I was told that in 1776, Monmouth County was huge and included present day Ocean County as well. I am seeking any and all information on Wilson Parker (1776 - 1839) and his wife Rhoda Thorpe (1784 - 1864) daughter of Isaac Thorpe (1764 - 1839). Wilson was born in Monmouth County, as were four of their children - Betsey, Thomas, Wilson, and Isaac. The LDS website indicates that they were married on 15 Nov 1799 in Nelson, Cumberland County, New Jersey. I can find no verification that there is a Nelson in Cumberland County. Wilson and Rhoda are my 4th great grandparents and are also my brick wall. Thanks, Patty
