    3. I am very interested in any information on how people were admitted to the Camden County Almshouse at Lakeland. I have an ancestor (Moses HOWEY) who was admitted there sometime before 1850. From census records it appears he fathered children there. One child, Edward L. HOWEY left the home to live with the Edward HUSTON family in Delaware Twp. before 1860. From the US census it appears there were about 75 residents of the facility. Can anyone tell me what official documents would have been required to admit someone to the alms house and what documents would have been required for a minor to leave the facility? What was the age when he could have left on his own? My father and I have spoken to the staff at the current Lakeland facility and, although they have some old records, have found no records of Moses or Edward. Any help, guidance, or wisdom appreciated. Robert T. Howey Robert.howey@reedtech.com
