Regina, It may be a law, but, I have sent for death certificates to NJ from TX by mail, and if I checked the OTHER box and put "family health history" as reason for wanting, they have sent me certificate with cause of death left on it. My and Hubbys family (and us) all freom NJ and I have done many. Diane
