I've received 4 death certificates back from NJ. One had the cause of death listed. The other three were blanked out. There doesn't seem to be a reason that I can find. Deaths occuring in 1934,1963 and 1979 were blanked out and I know that the one in 1979 was to do a heart attack. The one that had a cause od death was from 1988. Doesn't make any sense to me. You can try the funeral homes. Sometimes they have a cause of death, one of mine did and the other didn't. I guess you could try the obits. Regina
