    2. Hello Folks, New York Ship Yard was located on Broadway in the City of Camden, NJ. It was a rather large facility as I recall it (I lived in Camden & many men in our neighborhood worked there). They used to build ships for the US Navy as well as possibly other ship building. One of the ships they built (that I remember well) was the USS Kitty Hawk---it was an aircraft carrier. It was near the border with Gloucester City & (obviously) was on the Delaware River at the old Port of the City of Camden. It closed many years ago & was one of the first major employers to leave the city & began the economic decline of Camden, NJ. It is across the Delaware River from where the Philadelphia US Naval Ship Yard was located. Hope that is a bit of help. I will see if I can find any further info & any possible photos of the old NY Ship Yard. Sally Huntley
