Vital records for NJ were not kept in the 1820's. For birth and baptism information, you would need to check church records and would be lucky to find what you need. Even after laws required births to be reported, many were not, particularly home births. In my case, I have found only about 1/3 of the births I looked for. Otherwise, try tracing people through the censuses, as well as city directories if they are available for the town(s) in question. Then look for marriage and death records. Good luck. Merle
