From the Burlington Mirror: Hit# 6 Acsn# 41575 Category: OBITUARIES Headline: OBITUARY. Date: July 2, 1902 Page: 2 Column: 5 Summary: DR. ALEXANDER M. MECRAY. -- The death of Dr. Alexander M. Mecray occurred at his home, at Maple Shade, early on Thursday morning, of apoplexy. Three years ago he suffered from a very severe stroke which unfitted him for continuing his practice in Camden and he retired to his country home at Maple Shade, where he lived at the time of his death. Dr. Mecray went to Camden from Cape May in 1865, having been graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, and soon built up a large practice and secured a warm place in the esteem of his fellow citizens. He was identified with the various charitable institutions, was on the Cooper Hospital staff and one of the men who was instrumental in opening it so succesfully. Dr. Mecray was a member of the city, county and State medical societies, and was at one time president of the Camden county organization and for many years its treasurer. For many years Dr. Mecray was an influential member of the First Presbyterian Church of Camden. He leaves a widow, one son and two daughters. The funeral was held at __ o'clock on Saturday afternoon, interment being made in Colestown. Thanks, Vince Summers
