Hi. Please note that I have a request in this post for partial 1870 Census data... Here is the 1860 Census entry for John STOCKHAM and Family. John is my g,g-grandfather, and John E. is my g-grandfather. Does anyone have any relevant database that would help me figure out a bit about Mary, John's wife, and about her mother, Elizabeth ROGERS? The lumber firm that John and his brother Charles operated in Camden was in existence, according to George Reeser Prowell, from 1856 until he retired in 1882, and went back to Maryland (though he was later buried at Colestown, in NJ). It here lists Mary as born Penna, but I have heard elsewhere, that she was actually born Ulster, Ireland, and was of Scottish background. This bit of census was the first indication that she was not born in one of the United States Ulsters. 1860 South Ward City of Camden Census Enumerated June 23rd 1860 316 318 John Stockham 43 M Lumber Merchant PE $100 Born Pa Mary 32 F Born Pa Charles 9 M Born Pa John E 4 M Born NJ Ella 1 F Born NJ Elizabeth Rogers 55 F Born Ireland Mary Roseler 18 F Servant Born Germany I have 1870 in part -- I am hoping someone can fill me in on what I do not show for 1870, as I obtained this information in my early days of family history research... I assume that by the age of 55 in 1860, she was either already widowed, had never married, or was divorced. Likely widowed. Thanks for your help, Vince Summers
