    3. Rootsweb is aware of this problem, and is trying to get it fixed. Apparently, NJCAMDEN-L is not the only Rootsweb mailing list that is being blocked by AOL. Rootsweb has had problems with AOL before, so it is not certain how quickly this will get resolved. AOL is known for not being cooperative with those outside of its system. You can also help by posting any additional information you might have at http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/mail.cgi This problem was caused by the new "MyDoom" email virus. One of the things that this virus does is steal email addresses from infected users' address books, and then use those email addresses to fake where the virus is coming from. Someone who had NJCAMDEN-L in their address book must have been infected, and now the virus is faking the NJCAMDEN-L email address as it is being sent out. For some reason AOL has elected to block the NJCAMDEN-L email address rather than block the IP address from whence the virus came. Other large email companies like Comcast and Yahoo have been able to handle this problem, and separate virus emails from real ones, but AOL doesn't seem to be able to handle this. Two things can be done to help this problem. One is to always have up-to-date anti-virus software on your computer. The second is to go to one of the free email services like Yahoo, and set up for yourself a backup email address to use when you may be having problems with your regular email account. As for missing messages that may have been sent to NJCAMDEN-L, all of those messages are saved in an archive which is searchable. You can find out everything you need to know about NJCAMDEN-L at http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/usa/NJ/camden.html Hope this helps, at least until AOL solves its problems.
