They were Bavarian-born Ulrich SMITH and West Virginia-born Rebecca VANAMAN, his wife. In 1870 she found the family *with* Amanda in Philadelphia. In 1880, she found them in Camden. Ages, events, locations, and so forth all agree that there is *no way* this could not be the correct set of parents.
