Anne, I would agree with Joan that having someone with you is a better idea. However, I have been to Evergreen many times alone and have never felt threatened in any way. Usually when I've been there it is in the late morning or early afternoon. Even if you are with someone, take the normal precautions you would in any urban area. Be aware of your surroundings. Don't wander too far from your car. Don't carry a handbag. General common sense precautions.
