Elmer is in Salem Co. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Malcolm Schalick Sharp sharp.rootsweb.com -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Centerton, NJ by A.P. Vince - There must be something to the first three numbers and geography. Where it is, I can't say for sure, but, my number is a 149 and I was born in Elmer, Cumberland County, in 1968. My nephew is also a 149, and he was born in Vineland, Cumberland County, in 2003. What Does Your Number Mean The nine-digit Social Security number is divided into three parts: The first three digits are the area number. If your Social Security number was assigned before 1972 when Social Security cards were issued by local offices, the area number reflects the State where you applied for your number. If your number was assigned in 1972 or later when we began issuing Social Security cards centrally, the area number reflects the State as determined by the ZIP code in the mailing address on your application for the number. The middle two digits are the group number. They have no special geographic or data significance but merely serve to break the number into conveniently sized blocks for orderly issuance. The last four digits are serial numbers. They represent a straight numerical sequence of digits from 0001-9999 within the group. Using one of my less common surnames, I found this, I would check for Ava's obit in Camden County first: William BATTERSBY Birth Date: 14 Jun 1926 Death Date: Oct 1977 Social Security Number: 151-14-0336 State or Territory Where Number Was Issued: New Jersey Death Residence Localities ZIP Code: 08035 Localities: Haddon Heights, Camden, New Jersey Death Benefit Localities Zip Code: 08002 Localities: Cherry Hill, Camden, New Jersey Ellisburg, Camden, New Jersey Erlton, Camden, New Jersey Take care - Deb >From: "Vincent E.
