    2. GCHS Record: #39581 Groom : Beagary, John (B260) Bride : Stiles, Keziah (S342) Residence : Camden, NJ Residence : Camden, NJ Father : Father : Mother : Mother : Marriage Date : 1836 Official : Cowperthwait, J. K., Esq. Location : City/State : Camden, NJ Source : Woodbury Constitution Source Date : 7/26/1836 Notes : Married: On the 17th inst. Also from: Camden Mail 7/27/1836. Groom's title Captain. =========== I have a BEAGARY descendant cousin who first thought CAPT. JOHN BEAGARY was in the military. Now we are leaning towards a boat captain of some kind. This record was interesting because it shows that as of 1836 his title was Captain. Would a Ferry Boat captain have gone by Captain as a title like a military man would have? Could he have been both in the Military and a ship or boata captain? I just joined the GLOUCESTER COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY online and obtained this marriage record and wonder how much more would be in Newspapers in announcements of this kind, and also would the items carried for deaths be DEATH NOTICES or OBITUARIES of some length? Have folks on this lists obtained these on their ancestors from the papers mentioned above? Jacqueline Sleeper Russell
