Hi List, Camden has been fairly quiet of late! Last year a bunch of us met at Evergreen Cem. on a Sat. to try and find our ancestors and check the status of this once lovely cemetery but suffering from neglect. We were thrilled to find that CCHS library had recently acquired the plot books and some of us even found our missing ancestors that day after a visit to the library and then back to the cemetery. Does anyone know if the clean up crew from Camden followed through with their plans to gradually improve this site? Has anyone been there lately that could give an update on Evergreen. My gr-grandfather, Richard Wood Sharp, along with other members of the family are buried in Evergreen. See my webpage - http://sharp.rootsweb.com/evergreen.htm - for details and photos [taken by my uncle] from a 1999 clean-up effort. Since I couldn't offer in-person help (I'm in Los Angeles) I sent money to a CCHS fund to help support the clean-up. I've never received any acknowledgement other than my canceled check nor did I hear if/how that money was used. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Malcolm Schalick Sharp http://sharp.rootsweb.com -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, March 22, 2002 12:41 PM Subject: [NJCAMDEN] Evergreen Cemetery > Hi List, > Camden has been fairly quiet of late!
