    1. [NJCAMDEN] Camden property records, probate
    2. Elsa Vorwerk
    3. I'm new to the Camden list, and this is my first experience doing research in a New Jersey county. I'd be grateful to learn how one would obtain some sort of property record for a house owned/mortgaged (per 1900 census, located at 227 Cooper in Camden 1st Ward). Also, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me whether it's possible that probate (1917) might have occurred in Camden for a death occurring in NYC with (the above) property in Camden involved. A little background: Research on this person has been difficult owing to the fact that he was an actor, raised in Philadelphia, who worked on Broadway from the 1890s until his death in 1917, and living in Camden at least part of that time. To complicate matters further, he changed his name from Herman Charles Dexheimer to Charles D. Herman at some point, whether officially or not I do not know, but he married in Philadelphia in 1886 as Dexheimer and the family appears in 1900 as Herman, and I don't know what their names really were legally changed. I'll appreciate any insights you may have to offer, ~ Elsa in Allegany County, Maryland NJCAMDEN-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > Subject: > > NJCAMDEN-D Digest Volume 03 : Issue 202 > > Today's Topics: > #1 [NJCAMDEN] African American Geneal ["John Logan" <jtlogan@africamail.c] > #2 [NJCAMDEN] Fwd: [Fwd: [gsnj] State [MrcrvlBob@aol.com] > #3 [NJCAMDEN] NJ GRAVE SITE ["cats130" <cats130@comcast.net>] > > Administrivia: > To unsubscribe from NJCAMDEN-D, send a message to > > NJCAMDEN-D-request@rootsweb.com > > that contains in the body of the message the command > > unsubscribe > > and no other text.
