    1. [NJCAMDEN] 3 great grandfather's occ: listed as captain in 1850 question on this
    2. Would anyone have any suggestions on how to research captains in Camden in the 1840-50 timeframe. I would love to learn what kind of captain he was. I presume it had to do with ships, perhaps even a ferry boat? How would one research this? Thanks for any research suggestions. I have just ordered his inventory at time of death (no will) from the archives of NJ, but am intersted in learning just what his occupation was. He died December 08, 1850 presumably in Camden. 1850 US Census - North Ward, City of Camden, NJ Series: M432 Roll: 445 Page: 15 CAMDEN, CAMDEN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY: Note: Listed as JOHN BEGARY, not BEAGARY. 3. Try the Camden County Historical Society - http://www.cchsnj.com/. My great grandfather, Stephen Sarish, was a ferry boat captain also. Good luck in your research. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Jackisr@aol.com> To: <NJCAMDEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 22, 2003 7:53 PM Subject: [NJCAMDEN] 3 great grandfather's occ: listed as captain in 1850 question on this > Would anyone have any suggestions on how to research captains in Camden in > the 1840-50 timeframe.
