Hello Everyone: Those of you who are working on your lines back to your 1600s American Ancestors will find the1600s Ancestors Data Base to be of great help. My recent posting updates to the Data Base has taken it to over 26,500 Ancestors who have descendants living today. I have also added several National Societies who have proven many of these Ancestors. Also at this time a few new respected Reference works that contain thousands of sources including some of the early colonists who have Royal Blood lines. All the entries are coded to indicate to which reference work or which National Society has at least one of their proven lines. Hi everyone, I'm new to this area of search and am tracking my mother's grandmother. Mom is 95 and just told me that her grandmother, Anna (annie) Rebecca Slusser,lived her last years around Camden, NJ. and died there in 1937 or 1938. Her maiden name was Anna Rebecca Geneva McNeal and her husband was Peter Slusser who died May 30, 1926 in Mifflin Twp., Columbia Co., Pa. I'm looking for a death record and cemetery of interment. Cliff, I highly recommend that you start by getting the death record. It will tell where she is buried. I have had very good success with a professional researcher in Trenton. This is the requirement: Death search provide deceased's name, date of death, place of death (city, town, township, county) age of death, father's name, mother's maiden name (or as much of this as you can). $5 per photocopy of microfilm record. I have the text of a death notice which reads: "Yourself and family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral of CATHARINE FIRTH, from the residence of her son William Blake, near Blackwoodtown, on Thursday, the 27th inst. at 1 o'clock, PM. Services at the M.E. Church, Blackwoodtown, at 2 o'clock. November 25,1873". A fellow researcher found this at the Salem Co. Historical Society. The Gloucester Co. Historical Society database says they got her name and death date and age (67) from the "Woodbury Constitution". The funeral announcement above does not have her age so I am thinking perhaps it was in another newspaper or it was published in the same newspaper on a different day. (I hope I am making myself clear.) At any rate I would like more information on this lady. I am interested in obtaining church and cemetery records if they still exist. Do any of you listers know if the Historical Society has made a survey of the cemetery? Have any of you written successfully to the church for records? Other suggestions are welcome.
