Hi, Joe. I assume you are looking for info on the marriage, etc. of Jacob R. Stow, m. Mary G. Newton; Mary Ann Stow, d/o Jacob R. Stow, m James Parker on 6/12/ 1859. Am I close? Hi Deb et al. She is listed in the 1920 census under her name as head of household with the 2 babies and her in-laws. Sometime between 1920 and 1930 she left, according to Jan. Joan In a message dated 12/12/03 7:12:39 AM Eastern Standard Time, delerani@hotmail.com writes: I can't tell you where they were in 1920, not yet anyway, but, I can tell you that in 1930, Helen and Dorothy are listed as daughters, but are in fact granddaughters, as they are both living with Horace's parents, William and Mary in the 1930 census. I can't imagine why, but, it's possible that the 1918 flu epidemic took both parents, but noone ever told the girls that it took their mother as well. We have a set of parents in our line who both died of TB in the 1920's. One of the children was taken in, but never legally adopted by a brother of the mother who died, one of them was legally adopted by a local doctor, but never told this, so she never knew that Bacon was not her birth name, and as for the two boys, well, the older generation can't recall their names or what happened to them. That's why I say, I can't imagine why they weren't just told that their mother and father died. Who knows why people did what they did back then, and even now. I'll keep looking in 1920 to see it they are with their grandparents then also. Take care - Deb
