    1. [NJCAMDEN] Courthouse Trip
    2. Deborah Johnson
    3. Morning all - My trip to the Cumberland County Courthouse will be delayed by one week, my son was sent home sick from school yesterday, he's better, but, the rules say he needs to stay home today. Sorry guys. Also, since I'm already at about 25 requests, I can't take anymore for this trip, it's the one day of the week that I don't have to pay the daycare, so, I have to be home by 2pm when my oldest gets off the bus. I'll be making more trips between now and the end of school, so, I'll be posting my trips periodically. Keep an eye out for them because I'm moving back to California on July 3, 2004. Take care - Deb _________________________________________________________________ Store more e-mails with MSN Hotmail Extra Storage – 4 plans to choose from! http://click.atdmt.com/AVE/go/onm00200362ave/direct/01/

    2. Deborah Johnson
    3. Morning All - Sorry for more than one message about the same thing! :-) Looks like I'm finally going to have a day above freezing with no snow or rain this coming Wednesday. I will be making a trip to the Cumberland County Courthouse, if anyone needs a look-up, please let me know, but please, be as specific as possible! I have three people I'm getting some info for, as well as myself, so, please, don't think it's a bother. For your information, copies of wills from the surogates office are $5 per page, so, I pretty much write down the information and then you decide if you want an actual copy. At that point you have a choice, send the monies to myself and I will go down and get them, or send it to the office itself. Please have all requests to me by 6am EST Wednesday. Take care - Deb _________________________________________________________________ Store more e-mails with MSN Hotmail Extra Storage – 4 plans to choose from! http://click.atdmt.com/AVE/go/onm00200362ave/direct/01/

    1. [NJCAMDEN] Copy of 1686 Quaker referral for Samuel & Esther Spicer
    2. Hope this is interesting reading. I obtained this 1826 wooden framed document from an auction house in Fl. This was copied for Rebecca Folwell who was the Grandaughter of Thomas Spicer and Abigail Davenport. I do not descend from Rebecca but do descend from Thomas Spicer and Abigail Davenport. I would like to see this document preserved but is it worth it, if this information was already on file at the Haddonfield Monthly Meeting.? Should this go to the Gl. or Ca. Co. Hist. Soc.? Any suggestions.? Wes Hayman 1826 Calligraphy copy of 1686 document from the Monthly or Quarterly Meetings in Flushing, Long Island "TO OUR DEAR AND WELL BELOVED FRIENDS at their Monthly or Quarterly Meetings in West Jersey or elsewhere Whereas our dear friends Samuel Spicer and Esther his wife have seen cause to remove themselves and family from Gravesend on Long Island (where they have long abode) into your parts to settle and inhabit, These may certify that they the said Samuel and Esther his wife have long been well known unto us and among us, and to our great satisfaction we can say that from their commencement unto this very day we have not known of any misbehaviour concerning them, either to the blemishing the truth they have professed with us, or towards their neighbors; but as far as we know (and do believe) they have been of honest conversation and good patterns and examples, both among us and also their neighbors, and will leave a good savour in the hearts of Friends and people that knew them; and although they remove outwardly from among us, yet we hope our love and unity in the Truth shall abide towards them and remain the same. At our Quarterly Meeting at Flushing on Long Island this 29th of the 3 mo. 1686. Esther Spicer and Esther Saxby, her servant maid, and Richard Thackara, the son of Thomas Thackara, of Newton, he being about 11 years 9 months and 12 days old were slain by lightning on the 24th of the 7th month of 1703, they being in Esther Spicer’s house;- which shock happened about the 10th hour in the evening.- They were buried at Newton in Friends burial ground on the 26th day of the same month. The above Certificate and memoranda were copied from the records of Haddonfield Monthly Meeting by Benjamin Cooper,- Clerk. A.D. 1826 The above named Samuel and Esther Spicer had four children; to wit, Jacob, Martha, Abigail and Thomas. - Jacob remained single,- Martha married Thomas Chalkley,- Abigail, Daniel Stanton, and Thomas, Abigail Davenport; the last named being the paternal Grandparents of Rebecca Folwell Sarah Elwell 1854" On the back of this framed document is a wooden backing with paper pasted on it and writing on it and on the wood itself which is about impossible to read. 1. Re: [NJCAMDEN] Obituary Lookup - Gladys Miller - 2002
    2. Anne Kerr
    3. I looked in courierpostonline.com, and didn't find this Gladys Miller at all. That is the most likely newspaper for an obituary for her. I also checked the "obituary daily times" and didn't find her listed with an obituary, either, but it may be that the newspaper it was in wasn't indexed at that time. In fact, the only place I found her was in the SSDI. I have a Gladys Stone who married a Miller in one of my lines, living in the Camden County area, so I was also interested in this. 1. [NJCAMDEN] Obituary Lookup - Gladys Miller - 2002
    2. Don Wilson
    3. Good evening all! I'm hoping someone may have access to some fairly recent obituaries. On a "hunch", I'm researching Gladys Miller, who died on May 3, 2002 in Audubon, Camden, New Jersey. She was born June 23, 1917. I'm curious to know her maiden name, who her parents were, if there were any survivors (husband, children, etc.) and where she may be buried. Any assistance you can provide will be of great help. In advance, thanks for any information. Don Wilson Marietta, Ga.
