    3. I write concerning this name, since I ran across it by accident, and someone had been seeking this name -- I believe in Philadelphia. As it turns out, it is listed in the Camden portion of the Philadelphia City Directory for 1861, and so I am listing it in both lists: Danenhower Charles, clerk, 303 Federal Danenhower James, grocer, 501 N 2d Danenhower Jacob, baker, 618 N Front The above are Camden addresses. 1. [NJCAMDEN] An 1861 Camden NJ KILLINGER!
    2. Vincent E. Summers
    3. I was examining a couple of pages of data, and found a Christian KILLINGER. Here is the entry, and the briefly listed reasons as to why this is so interesting to me: Camden portion of 1861 Philadelphia City Directory: KILLINGER Christian, Surf House, 210 Front My g,g,g,g-grandfather was George KILLINGER of Philadelphia, married twice. 1st Judah COLLET (not mine) June 6, 1757 2nd Elizabeth BENNET (mine) February 29, 1760 It is not yet known who his parents or siblings(if any) were. Where did they come from? Was Christian related in any way? Since I do not even hope to find a KILLINGER researcher in Camden, I can only really hope for information of a less direct sort. Does anyone know what the Surf House was? Does anyone have a database for this time period - perhaps accessibility to the 1860 Census, who can do a lookup on Christian? Thanks, Vince Summers

One thing I had never come across was a reference to a diary kept by Joseph Mickle Hinchman, Sr from 1811-1827. It states that this contains historical & genealogical, as well as personal information. This is my husbands direct line. Has anyone ever heard of or seen this book/diary? I am hoping to locate a copy or maybe find where a copy may be kept. 2. This from the [email protected], thank you Val ___________________________________ Hi all, I've been looking in a book, Salem Quarter, for my own purposes, but came across this list of Quaker names dated 1774, and felt it might be useful to many. Also, if I type these and enter into a word file, I can quickly do a "find in file" for later reference. Salem Quarter, "The Quakers of Salem Quarterly Meeting of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends in Southern New Jersey 1675-1990" Salem Quarterly Meeting History Committee, Associated Printers, Inc., Pennsville, NJ 1991 p222-224 "The Meeting has in its archives the original petition to William Franklin, Esq., the last Provincial Governor of New Jersey. The petition against the evils of slavery was first read at Burlington and is dated Feb. 8, 1774." "This Petition was signed by 78 members of Salem Meeting. At that time the Salem Monthly Meeting embraced all Quakers within the County plus those in Gloucester County in the Harrisonville and Mullica Hill areas and a few in Cumberland County at Greenwich and Port Elizabeth." "Some of the signatures are difficult to decipher. For easy reference, this list is given in the same order as they were affixed to the face and reverse side of the Petition." 3. I have information about the Down/s family on my website pages for the Friendship United Methodist Church, Buena Township, Atlantic County, NJ -- http://sharp.rootsweb.com/fumc/ My interest in this line comes from the connection between the Sharp and Downs line. Robert and Jemima (Sharp) Downs were the gr-grandparents of Rev. James Downs. Jemima was the d/o William Sharp, the youngest of three Sharp brothers who came to America in 1698 and settled in Evesham, Burlington Co. James Downs was the s/o Aquilla and Mary (Woolford) Downs -- both are buried in Friendship Methodist Cemetery in Atlantic Co. as are James, his wife Beulah (Chew), and many of James' siblings. 1. [NJCAMDEN] 1548 Mt. Ephraim Avenue in 1923 ???
    2. Vincent Summers
    3. Jule F. CURE Jr was born in New York. He married in Philadelphia. He married a second time. He was in Company H 213 PA in the Civil War. He went to NJ in 1900 to Anglesea in Cape May County to work as an Oysterman. No longer was he married to either of his wives. In 10 years, he was found at an old soldiers' home called Mountain Home on the web, in Washington County, TN. Oddly, though, as can be seen at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/pa/philadelphia/interments/cure-jf.gif he was last listed as being at 1548 Mt. Ephraim Avenue in 1923, the time of his death. Is there anyone who would have a clue what was at that specific location at the time of this man's death in November of 1923? Thanks, Vince Summers

    2. Vincent E. Summers
    3. Not sure, folks, but Jule Ferdinand CURE, incorrectly listed as Jules in one or two instances, is to be found in NJ on CD 916 for 1900. The part I am not sure about is that it is Camden County. In fact, I do not know for sure just *what* county it was. Does anyone have the ability to do a lookup in this CD for me? Or who can do a 1900 Census lookup of any kind? Chances are fairly good it is Camden County, but I cannot swear to it. Thanks, Vince Summers
