If anyone has sent for military papers recently, to the National Archives, just thought I would share a post card I received this weekend. I had sent for pension papers on October 19th. The post card I received said that the NATF form was *Just* received on January 17th! The reason for this is that Brentwood Post Office was closed, due to the anthrax problem, and all of NARA's mail comes through Brentwood. They (NARA) were just letting me know that my form was received, and thanked me for my understanding. For anyone else who is waiting for a response, thought you would like to know, if you have not received any notification yet. I also received a letter weeks ago that said the normal time currently for receiving full pension records is 16 weeks currently. Military records' time is 8-10 weeks.
