Hello all-this is my first post to the Burlington list. I am seeking ANY information on any of the following Websters. They were interesting people, but I've never seen anyone else researching them. Maybe you've heard of these folks? I'm on the edge of my seat! Marilou First Generation 1. Samuel Webster, m. Mary A. __?__, presumably between ca. 1800-1828, and in either Burlington Co. (Evesham?) or Gloucester/Camden Co (Newton?) or not too terribly far from that area. Samuel and Mary were the parents of Jones E. Webster, and probably other children as well. Second Generation 2. Jones E. Webster. Born Jun 1828, presumably NJ; died in Merchantville on Apr 15, 1909, he was 80. Buried in Philadelphia, PA. Occupation: Advertising Man. Jones established his "Jones Websters Subscription and Advertising Agency" in Philadelphia in 1849. On Sep 1, 1853 when Jones was 25, he married Sarah Holmes Thorn, daughter of Isaac Homer Thorn & Hannah A. Holmes, in (Evesham), Burlington Co., NJ. Sarah was born on Nov 3, 1832 in NJ. By the 1870's they moved to Merchantville, where Sarah remained after Jones' death. An invalid prior to her death, Sarah Holmes died in 19 W. Cedar Ave., Merchantville, Camden Co., NJ on Dec 26, 1922, she was 90. At the end cared for by Irish immigrant Barbara Tweed ("Nurse Tweed"). Buried in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Philadelphia. They had the following children: 3 i. Spencer A. (1858-) 4 ii. Ellwood Shannon (1859-~1893) 5 iii. Warren (1863-1938) iv. Theodore Lycurgis. Born in Jul 1866, Theodore Lycurgis died on Dec 27, 1907. Married Jennie L. __?__, and lived in Merchantville . v. Laura H.. Born in Nov 1869 in Philadelphia, PA. Living with her mother Sarah Thorn Webster as late as 1922. Variously referred to as Laura Musgrave or Laura Godfrey. 6 vi. Hannah Rejessa (ch. 1893->1907) Third Generation 3. Spencer A. Webster. Born Sep 1858 in Philadelphia, PA, Spencer A. may have died in Florida? In 1893 married Ida E[leanor?] __?__ (b. 1862, PA) Occupation: Merchant. They had at least one child: i. Arnold S.. Born in Jul 1896 in NJ. 4. Ellwood Shannon Webster. Born in 1859 in Philadelphia, PA, Ellwood Shannon died in or near Camden abt 1893, he was only 34 (some kind of train accident?). Christened on Jun 9, 1895 in Merchantville, NJ. Before 1888 he married Katherine (Kate) Kessler, daughter of Lemuel Kessler & Mary Elizabeth Ascough, in Philadelphia, PA. Born on Mar 28, 1864 in Philadelphia, PA. Katherine died at 1st Ave. & Kings Hwy, Haddon Heights, Camden Co., NJ on Aug 27, 1939, she was 75. Buried on Aug 29, 1939 (in Colestown Cemetery?). Kate was an active clubwoman and a member of the Haddonfield Presbyterian Church. A member of the Haddon Fortnightly, Matinee Musical Club in Philly, President of the Haddon Heights Needlework Guild, a director of the Camden Day Nursery. They had the following children: i. Sara Holmes (aka "Aunt Sara" Webster Smith). Born on Oct 8, 1891 in NJ. Sara Holmes died in Savannah, GA on Aug 13, 1991, she was 99. Buried in Colestown, NJ. Christened on Jun 9, 1895 in Merchantville, NJ. On Aug 20, 1923 when Sara Holmes was 31, she married Theodore Howard Smith Sr., son of Samuel Carson Smith & Elizabeth Roxana Drake, in Haddonfield, NJ. Born on Jul 8, 1890 in Camden, NJ. Theodore Howard died in Haddonfield, NJ in 1966, he was 75. ii. Ellwood Kessler. Born on Jul 19, 1888 in Philadelphia?, PA. Christened on Jun 9, 1895 in Merchantville, NJ. Occupation: Officer of Warren Webster Co., Camden. Buried Colestown Cemetery. 5. Warren Webster. Born on Jun 25, 1863 in Philadelphia, PA, Warren died in Washington, DC on Dec 21, 1938, he was 75. Founder and owner (with his brothers) of Warren Webster and Co. of Camden. On Jul 2, 1891 when Warren was 28, he married Frances Marguerite Siegrist, in Merchantville, NJ. They had the following children: i. Warren. Born abt 1903 in Camden, NJ. Warren died in Crystal River, FL on Dec 23, 1997, he was 94. Buried in West Laurel Hill, Bala-Cynwood, PA. On Dec 21, 1934 when Warren was 31, he married Katherine Louise Kuebler, in 1st Presby, Haddonfield, NJ. Born abt 1906 in Camden, NJ. Katherine Louise died in Crystal River, FL on Dec 23, 1997, she was 91. Buried in West Laurel Hill, Bala-Cynwood, PA. ii. Marguerite. Born in 1892-1895. Marguerite married J. Spencer Lucas. iii. Pauline. Pauline married Maynard W. Brown. 6. Hannah Rejessa Webster. (aka Hannah L. Webster) Hannah Rejessa christened on Mar 5, 1893 in Trinity United Methodist, Merchantville, NJ; died between Dec 1907 and Dec 1922. On Jun 9, 1896 Hannah Rejessa married Joseph Baker Cramer, in Merchantville, NJ. Merchantville gossip column, no date, relates that Hannah Rejeesas daughters Hannah and Laura were members of the "Doing Good Club." They had the following children: i.
