Hello All -- Listen, I'm by no means a "seasoned" researcher, and really lack knowledge in certain areas. I say this to explain what might seem like a wild goose chase created by this posting. I've been looking for one Sylvanus COX, b. c. mid-to-late 1700's and d. probably after 1860. He lived a good deal of his life in Monmouth/Ocean Co., (keeping in mind the formation of Ocean from Monmouth in 1850). I have lots of anecdotal info -- deeds, census reports, "news" stories, etc. that prove his existance, but even after dealing with Archives and Historical Societies, can not come up with any birth, death, will or burial info. At one point, I seem to recall someone telling me that this info "might" be recorded in Burlington Co., as it was considered the "main" place to send these records, for quite a while, even tho one did not live there?? Can anyone educate me on this -- AND -- if I've posted this before, please forgive -- getting the "brick wall frustration syndrome" and may be losing "track" :))) Thanks friends and keep well -- Terri
