My Henry THOMPSON (b. between 1668 & 1653, probably in England) was among those "p'sons as were imported into this province and brought to bee Registered in the Secretary's books of Records". He was indentured for 7 years upon the account of William Dockwra (an East Jersey Proprietor). That was in 1 December 1684. The next time I find anything about Henry THOMPSON is when he purchases property in Mansfield Twp, Burlington Co, NJ, from Nathan HOLWELL on 4 May 1710, and Hugh HUTCHINS on 10 June 1710, and from Joshua SMITH on 8 October 1724. The land indenture from Hugh HUTCHINS states, ".... thirty and four acres of land being that land whereon the said Henry THOMSON now dwells...." - which means Henry THOMPSON lived in Mansfield Twp, Burlington Co, NJ, before 1710. >From his Will (which was written on 10 July 1732), I know that he married someone named "Elizabeth" (it was NOT Elizabeth Hammel - long story), and they had 4 children: John THOMPSON, b. abt 1702, m. Elizabeth STAPLES Thomas THOMPSON, abt. 1704, m. Agnus (nee Unknown) Dinah THOMPSON, b abt 1706, m. Robert HOBKINS/HOPKINS Rebecca THOMPSON, b. abt 1708, m. James QUEST/GUEST Over the years, I have steadily gathered information on almost every "branch" for over 14 generations. But my biggest "brick wall" is WHAT HAPPENED TO HENRY BETWEEN THE TIME OF HIS REGISTERED ARRIVAL IN 1684 AND THE TIME HE BOUGHT PROPERTY IN 1710!!!!! Where did he serve his 7 yr indenture? What was Elizabeth's maiden name, and when/where did they marry? When/where were the children born? How/when did Henry, indentured to an East Jersey Proprietor, end up in buying property in West Jersey? Any help would be more than appreciated!
