    1. Re: [NJBurlin] Grant House
    2. Since we have been talking about houses within the county. You all might want to go to the Library of Congress' Historic American Buildings Survey/Historic American Engineering Record. I stumbled accross it or got the url from someone on the list and it has a wealth of information. For example, let us take the Ezra Haines House in Rancocas, Burlington County, NY. <http://memory.loc.gov/cgi-bin/ampage?collId=hhdatapage& fileName=nj/nj0300/nj0369/data/hhdatapage.db&recNum=0& itemLink=D?hh:69:./temp/~ammem_PCRi::@@@mdb=manz,eaa,aap,aaeo,rbaapcbib,aasm,ftvbib,aaodyssey,hh,gottscho,mharendt,bbpi x,bbcards, magbell, berl, lbcoll, rbpebib, calbkbib, tccc, lhbcbbib, cwband, cwnyhs, gmd ,mtaft, cwar, cola, consrvbib, bdsbib, coolbib, coplandbib, curt, dag, musdibib, fsaall, mfd, papr, aep, fine, dcm, cmns, flwpabib, afcreed, cowellbib, toddbib, lomaxbib, ngp, afc wwgbib, haybib, raelbib, gottlieb, mtj, alad, wpa, mal, scsm, mcc, mymhiwebib, mmorse, aip n,ncpm, ncpsbib, afcwip, fawbib, omhbib, pan,vv,wpapos, psbib, pin, presp, lhbprbib, qlt ,ncr, relpet, dukesm, mussm, mesnbib, llstbib, denn, amss, uncall, fpnas, svybib, runyon, wtc, detr, hlaw, lhbumbib, varstg, horyd, mgw, hawp, nawbib, suffrg, nfor> Yes that is all one URL. On this page thee are 4 additional links. Drawings, B&W photos, data and supplementalMaterials. In the Drawings there are 6 drawings includng a map, floor plans, a drawing of the front and both left and right side. Woodward records that there was but one house in the village in the early nineteenth century, and that a one story building owned by Samuuel Wills occupied by jjacob Cowgill as a dwelling and weaver’s shop. He adds that the property was enlarged and beautified by the late Ezra Haines. The executors of Ezra Haines sold the property to William S. Martin in 1883, and from Martin it came into the possession of Spencer Haines in the same year. Andrew J. Jordon, Sheriff, sold the property to Maurice E. Lundy in 1912. Suplemental Information There appears to be two catalog cards with the fist giving general information, history and discription of the building. The second is a card with the References for the data above. ====================== I did a search in the Built in America collection < http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/habs_haer/index.html> and found 120 hits on Burlington, NJ.
