Hello. I am doing research on my husband's family. Here is what we know. His grt-grandfather was William J. HOOVER b. 1853 in NJ (we are almost positive in Burlington Co.). He married Charlotte HAINES and later (abt 1898) moved to Newark. I am thinking that William's parents were Samuel and Mary HOOVER from Burlington, Burlington, NJ. I have found William and Charlotte on an 1880 Census living in Burlington, Burlington, NJ and a few lines above them is Phebe HAINES- the mother of Charlotte. For this reason, I am thinking that William belongs to Samuel and Mary. There was apparently another William HOOVER b. 1853 in Burlington Co. to Michael and Anna HOOVER, but while in NJ they lived in Bordentown and later moved to MI. Therefore, I have placed them on the "not likely" list. Can anyone confirm that our William J. was born to Samuel and Mary? Thanks in advance for your time and effort.
