I live in a county that is 70% African-American and am very aware of the offense that many people will take to using such words. I assume that some people simply are still clueless on some topics. I don't think that the sender meant to hurt anyone's' feelings and is now more aware concerning the topic. Reading the original posting I get the impression that the writer was simply asking if that Hogg Island was the island referenced in the document she found. She thought it was, but wasn't positive. Looking it up on Google doesn't work. Apparently there were dozens of islands with that offensive slang word used as an unofficial name. Surely it should be removed at once as promised and anyone looking for letters in this thread can still look for "Hogg Island". I always thought America had advanced beyond this childish behaviour but obviously you run a stiff anti black campaign. What a shame this has proved such a disappointing list.
