Hog Island is where the Philadelphia Airport is now. the Corps of Engineers filled in the space and connected it to the mainland. It is between the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers. Named for the hogs that use to run free on the island. Original name was Quistconck given to it by the Lenape Indians who sold it in 1680 to European settlers. Kathy
