Many Thanks to you Christine for the Census images and to Richard, Robert & Donna and to all of you for your interpretations of them. I think the name of the male[?] person she is living with is Lonnie? or maybe Louis Pringle[ Music Teacher] and he is over 20 as he has been in US since 1880. Wonder if he is related to the lady next door, age 72 and also from England. But I mostly wonder what our little Auntie Ida May age 18--was doing there in 1900..... She is said to have married a man she met there named John J. DeKorte, but not until 1920 when their marriage license was issued in South Dakota ; [???] where one of her two older brothers was probably already living. She also had two younger brothers , one back in Tennessee who became my father in law. Ida May is the main reason I am recording family history....she started doing that before 1929 and had done quite a lot by her death in 1956. I wonder if at 18 she was planning a career on the stage and didn't quite make it across the river into Manhatten. Would explain the "Music Teacher" but NOT the adoption. Aint genealogy FUN???? Thanks again all, Regards Steph Cecil in NC> [email protected]
