    3. I descend from Elizabeth (Rakestraw) Sharp, w/o William Sharp [1770-?]. Elizabeth was the d/o Thomas and Elizabeth (Zane) Rakestraw, m. 1757. According to the Genealogy of the Stokes Family by Richard Haines, Hannah Rakestraw, d/o Thomas and Elizabeth, was w/o Abraham Haines, s/o Abraham and Sarah (Ellis). Those are the only two children I show for Thomas and Elizabeth. I have Sarah Rakestraw who married Thomas Reeves. Thomas Reeves line is Thomas, Micajah, Walter Jr, and Walter Sr, the immigrant. Sarah was born 1762 in Burlington Co, NJ. I wonder if her parents were Thomas Rakestraw and Elizabeth Zane. I have not been able to find proof of this. Thomas Reeves remarried in 1827. I am also trying to find RW service for Thomas Reeves, even patriot service would work. Thomas Reeves came to Salem County, NJ after the RW. I have a copy of an article from "The American Genealogist" dated Jan 1975; "Rakestraw on Delaware" if you do not have this article. It lists a daughter, Hannah who married Abraham Haines and also a daughter Sarah but no marriage for her. Children of Thomas Reeves and Sarah Rakestraw were Asa, Joseph Thomas, Micajah, Thomas, Abraham and Isaac. Some are Reeve family names. Thank you for any help you can give me. I have been to Burlington and Salem Counties a few times but always seem to hit brick walls. 3. Malcolm, Have you read the article in "The American Genealogist", Jan 1975 by George E. McCracken? I copied it this summer at the DAR library. Thomas Rakestraw died between 6 Dec 1773 and 20 Jul 1774. He had 2 wives. He married 2nd Elizabeth Zane, 4 Jul 1757. There are 12 children listed in his will. Probably the last 6 by Elizabeth. William, John, Sarah, Joseph, Job and Paul Chalkley. The older children are Thomas, Abraham, Mary, Hannah, Lucreta, Rachel.
