Hi Maizie, Here is the closest I've found. A Jonathan Allen who had a daughter Sarah b. 1725-32 (no exact date of birth), more below. The Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey Vol. 16, No. 4 October 1941 Page 79 A Genealogical Dictionary of New Jersey 426. Jonathan Allen, son of Jedediah2, b. Oct. 16,1689, at Shrewsbury; d. there Nov., 1748; md. 1715-1716 to Mary Corlies, dau. of George and Exercise (Shattuck) Corlies, b. Mar. 31, 1692, at Shrewsbury; d. 174_. (NJA 23: 378; SHGM 1: 269). He lived in Shrewsbury, in the vicinity of his brothers Henry and David, near one of the branches of Eaton's Mill Brook. He was a Quaker, but most of his children "married out." His will, Nov. 12, 1748-Nov. 26, 1748, calls him yeoman, and names nine children, with friend Joseph Corlies and son-in-law John Woodmansee as executors. The inventory was dated Nov. 19, 1748. In May, 1749, his plantation was sold for 1281 pounds, and the propriety right for 25 pounds. The executors' account shows the payment of the various legacies to the sons and sons-in-law. On Nov. 24, 1749, David Allen, a minor, chose his brother-in-law John Woodmansee as guardian, probably to facilitate the settlement of the father's estate (NJW: 1467M' MnD H pt 2: 56) Children of Jonathan Allen and Mary Corlies: 471. (1) 1746, Uriah Ciorlies; (2) 1747--49, Chalres Mackey, (NJMB C: 57) NJW: 1467M). 476 Sarah, b. 1725-32; md. 1751 William Brewer (NJMB B: 127) 477 Mary b. abt. 1730; md. 1749, 469 Jediah Allas as 3rd wife (NJMB A: 37) 478 Hannah b. 173_; md. 1755, Peleg Slocum (NJMB S: 166) 479 David, b. about 1730; poss md by lic. of July 19, 1748, to Sarah Van Dike. (MJMB A: 31; SHGM 2:429) I suspect Jonathan's father Jedahiah descends from Ralph but haven't tried to prove it. If you know who your Sarah married, let me know, the index often gives married names and it makes it easier to find. There are several Ralph Allen men who come from MA in early 1600's and migrated south into Jersey....just wondering as I have a Sarah Allen b. 1727 who descended from a Ralph Allen b. in England and emigrated to "the colonies."
