He is a farm laborer in the Abraham Dutcher household. He, and the Dutchers, were all born in NJ. See Series M653, Roll 705, p. 14. New Egypt, just at the western edge of Ocean County, is about seven miles from Wrightstown in Burlington County. Charles Asson was not with the Abraham Dutcher household in 1850, but they had a whole different set of farm workers that year. A Michael Asay, age 30-40 in 1830, lived in New Hanover Twp., Burlington County. There is a James Asay d. Feb. 15, 1856, aged 56 yrs, also buried at Wrightstown Methodist. Can Charles be his brother?
