He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy and retiring after 21 years of service. After graduating from Paulsboro High School in 1967, he earned his Bachelors in Chemistry from Rutgers University in 1972. He continued his education with an M.S. in Chemistry from St. Joseph's University in 1978. He received his PhD in Food Science from Rutgers University in 1994. He applied his love for knowledge into a long and successful career. In 1976 he began his career as a Research Chemist at Campbell's Soup Company in Camden, NJ and in 1994 he became Director of Packaging Technology. From 1996-1998, he was Director of Packaging at Asia/Pacific, which took him all over the world. In 2001, he pursued an opportunity with Vlasic Foods as Director of New Products and Process Development. Most recently he was Vice President of Research and Development at Pinnacle Foods in Cherry Hill, NJ. Among his accomplishments were launching new products, and he was a recipient of the DuPont Packaging Award in 1989 and 2001. John enjoyed his summer home in Brigantine. He was an avid Eagles fan. He enjoyed golfing, sailing, camping, and working with his sons on home improvement projects. He also enjoyed trips to New England and St. Michael's with his wife. He enjoyed meeting new people from all over the world. He served his country as a National Guardsmen and early in his life he became an Eagle Scout. He was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Parish in Haddon Heights. He lived life by this motto: 'Plan your work, Work your plan.'
