Theodore- I think I found the record you are looking for: >From Burlington Monthly Meeting records (Marriages): Robert ZANE, of Elsinbrough and Alis ALDAY, of Burlington married 10th day, 2nd month, 1679. Note: This Alis ALDAY, it is said was an Indian girl on the authority of the late Isaac NICKLE of Camden, NJ. I find no other reference anywhere to this Alis ALDAY but I do find a few references to Robert ZANE in Salem records. In 1676 Robert ZANE was one of the signers of an agreement that was the basis for a group of Friends deciding to form a meeting. On the 2nd day 12th month 1679 a meeting (Salem Friends) was held at the home of Robert ZANE. Robert ZANE was among those who signed as subscribers to purchase a meeting house in Salem County. Her Marriage Certificate was signed by the religious and social leaders of the community. Question is their a place where I can go on the internet that would have all these records, I am looking for hers to find out her name and that of her fathers as well as to whom she married. So I may be able to trace it forward and see just where the blood line flows in present time. I would like to do so with all American Indians, where I can find a record on them, I do know that this is hard to impossible in a lot of cases because they had to hide being American Indian at points in time. It did not seem to be the case at this point in time so it may make it easer to track them if the names are known and what tribe they came from since their was a lot more than one tribe in every state. Just because a Tribe was not listed in a certain area dose not mean that no one from that tribe were in that area, they may have a good reason for being there and/or married someone from that area that was American Indian or not Indian one never knows. Any information that you can help me with will be greatly appreciated whether it be from personal or public records. Thank you until we talk again, peace be with you and yours. Theodore R.
