The earliest members I have in these families are: Jonathan Pullen b. 1791 NJ, and his wife Susannah Adams b.1799 NJ. They sometimes used the nicknames Job and Susan. They had three children that I know of: Theodore, b. 1832 Hamilton Twp,NJ, m. Maria RICHARDSON Louisa A b. 1827 Mercer, Co., NJ, m. Peter KENDRICK Capt. Edward S.(my ggrandfather) b. 1839 Trenton, Mercer, NJ, m. Clementina Yates Hart (widow). Edward named one of his daughters, Elizabeth SHARP Pullen, and another, Fannie WOOLEY Pullen. Fannie used to say her hair was white like the Wooley side of the family. She also said Susannah kept the name ADAMS as there were no males to carry on the name. However, I don't know what that connection is. We are supposedly descended from Samuel Adams, The Patriot. My grandmother said she traced it, but she never gave me the information, so it could be one of "those" family stories. The Pullens were nurserymen according to Fannie. Jonathan was a farmer. He and Susannah lived in Trenton, Mercer, NJ most of their married lives. Other surnames connected to the Adams/Pullen side of the family are: BARNES, BLACKBURN, BREECE, CARPENTER, COBB, SHEETS, WELLS, WILKING. I have lots of descendant information to share.
