    3. To add further detail to what you've already found - from "The Story of New Jersey's Civil Boundaries" by John P. Snyder: Randolph Township was formed from Washington Township 17 March 1870. It was restored to Washington Township 28 March 1893. Looking at the maps that came with the book, Randolph Township made up the eastern half of current Washington Township, with the Wading River serving as the border between Randolph Township and Bass River.
