Nancy, This may not work, but I looked for my father and it didn't bring up his name. So I put in just his social security number (no other information) and it then brought it up. Don't know why this happens. There did have to be someone to get a survivor's burial check for the person to show up on the list. <http://www.rootsweb.com/> The actual advanced database page is at: <http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi> Hope that may work for someone out there having trouble. My grandfather is not listed in any of the SSDI's. However, today I received his death certificate and it lists a Social Security Number. Can I still obtain information on him if I write to the Social Security Office and request his records? Thanks Nancy
