John Clemans ( wife Abigail ) from Chester Twp Burlington Co NJ sold property in Harrison Co WV in 1797 to a Job Clemans of Bucks County , PA. I have found a 1748 will of an Edward Clemanes of Chester , Burlington Co NJ (wife Elizabeth) with sons Benjamin, Judah and Ephraim. Benjamin age 19 chose Samuel Stokes as his guardian. Does anyone have any information which might tie John Clemans to Edward or to one of his sons? The daughter of John Clemens and his wife Abigail married a John Law and about 1815 lived in Stokes Twp, Madison County Ohio.
