It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. We used to swim there years ago at a little sandy beach. People go out there to canoe now. Joan << File: ATT00099.html >> Yes, thanks. We swam there a while back too! The Oswego River is actually the East Branch of the Wading River. Martha Pond which was the pond for the furnace at Martha, is on the east branch of the Wading or Oswego River. So it makes sense that Martha Furnace would have been referred to as Oswego Land. Here's an interesting link on a short history of Martha. Some interesting names in there as well that may be helpful to others... http://www.torreybotanical.com/njoptofc/marthafr.html Regards, Rosana Martha Furnace names that I am researching are Mick, DeVinney, Couch. Other Burlington Co. names I am working on are Morse, Headley, Caywood and Foster.
