Folks, I find Andrew J. JONES was married to my Susan Bucher AYRES of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. But LDS (and others) also list a former wife for Andrew, and a later one. The later one was Sarah A. BUCKMAN, born 1807 in Burlington, NJ. I like to include the barest statistics, etc., for each mate of a family member, so I thought I would ask if anyone on the list was familiar with the BUCKMAN connection? He received a fine English education, and early in life came to Harrisburg, where he learned merchandizing with John Cameron. Subsequently, in partnership with his brother Samuel T., he entered into the mercantile business, which they successfully carried on for many years. Mr. Jones became quite prominent in political affairs, and in 1848, upon the election of Gen. Zachary Taylor to the Presidency, was appointed postmaster at Harrisburg, a position he acceptably filled four years. He died at Harrisburg, January 13, 1867, aged sixty-four years. Mr. Jones was thrice married; first, to Mary Ann Jones, daughter of Thomas Jones and Margery Donnelly, of Perry county, Pa. She died in March, 1843, and there was issue: Robert Thomas, d. s. p., John Cameron (1833-56), and Samuel T. He married, secondly, Susan B. Ayres, daughter of William Ayres and his wife Mary Elizabeth Bucher, of Harrisburg; their children all died in infancy. He married thirdly, Sarah A.
