    1. Re: [NJBurlin] Silpath - Lenni Lenape
    2. Hi, Suzanne- The IORM stands for The Improved Order of Red Men. This was a lodge (and is still in existence to some extent nationally). They were White men who dressed in Indian garb (hence the Lenni Lenape name for the local lodge or "tribe"). Joan In a message dated 7/9/2008 9:11:12 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, sjmoller1@earthlink.net writes: Hello. I am researching the Silpath line. The earliest documented Silpath I have is from the late 1700s. The family has been in the Burlington County/City and Philadelphia area since then. The one major mystery has been the story that the original Silpath was a Native American. Each branch of the Silpath family knows this story. There is only one Silpath family. If you find a Silpath, that person is related in some way to me. Today I found an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer from Oct 24, 1901. It was the death notice for Albert H. Silpath. Albert had been the mayor of Burlington but towards the end of his life, was living in Philadelphia with his wife (Sarah Elizabeth Woolman) and some of their children. In the notice, it says the following groups were invited to the services that were to be held in Burlington: Burlington Lodge No. 22, I O O F? P? Lenni Lenape Tribe, No. 12, Imp. O. R. M. of Burlington, N. J.. My questions are: does anyone know anything about the "Lenni Lenape tribe" that is mentioned in the notice? Does the fact that there were invited to the services mean that Albert was a member? Does anyone know what Imp. O.R.M. means? Any info is greatly appreciated! 1. [NJBurlin] 1915 Camden City census, wards 8-13
    2. Friends: I bought the 1915 Camden City census, wards 8-13, on film and then had it converted to CDs. It was not cheap to do so. But, as someone just wrote, there is no INDEX...I would be glad to help people if I only knew how. In fact, I would be glad to donate the two discs to anyone, or place, that would put them online for Camden, such as the GenWeb pages...please advise. (I WOULD WANT A receipt for them for income tax as a donation) I bought wards 8-13 because in 1900 and 1910 my mother's family was in Ward 9, and I was looking for them again. And I knew they were at the same address on Chambers Ave for 50 years. I found them in ward 9, 2nd precinct. The instructions say there is an "Irfin Viewer" included, but I do not know what that is. I just slugged through until I found Ward 9, 2 precinct, then read the addresses... Mayann A. Ross, Ft. 3. Wow!!! Thanks Kathy,......That was QUICK.... but are these really my folks?? The date is likely right ---"18 November 1866", since their first child was born Sept 1867, and Camden County is somewhat close to Shamong in Burlington ---but ......... [I was all set to Question this as follows, ....... ""There were many ,MANY WILLS families in that area at that time, and the McDowell Surname was not unusual either , so this could easily be someone else.""................ THEN, I saw your second post correcting Malcolm's last name to MCMULLEN!! ] Certainly pays to read carefully!! Malcolm J. MCMULLEN and MARTHA Jane Wills were their actual names, and McMullen,-- spelled that way ---was probably fairly UN-common , so I will send for a copy of the certificate. Thanks ever so much.
