Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I used to live in Chesterfield but moved away in 1979 when I was 9 years old. I had a good friend named Christine Early who lived with her family in Jacobstown. We kept in touch for a while and then lost touch. In the 1980's (mid I think), her parents were killed in a plane crash and her sister Elaine was injured but survived. We regained touch once several years after this but then lost touch again. I am looking for anyone that might remember this family or this incident. I had no luck with the NY times online or google. I can't remember her parents first names and tried the ssdi with no luck as well. I would like to recall their names or get a hold of the article about the crash. I hope to eventually find Christine (who was living in her parents house at one point but I can't recall the address). Thanks, Laura

Is anyone familiar with the Jacob EMONS (Emmons) who was working at Martha Furnace near Harrisville in Washington Township, in the 1800-1820 range? This Jacob EMONS' name appears in the Martha Furnace Diaries, a daybook written when the place was well in production. Martha Furnace Diaries: http://www.njpinelandsanddownjersey.com/open/index.php?module=documents&JAS_DocumentManager_op=categories&category=112 Martha Furnace was opened in 1793. In 1808 (when the daybook records become available), Jacob EMONS was working as a teamster for Martha Furnace, in Burlington County, NJ, which was south of Chatsworth and east of Hammonton Entries in the Martha Furnace daybook say that Jacob EMONS had a family. He must have been born at least by 1790, could have been much earlier. He was a Householder on Tax list, Martha Furnace, Washington Township, Burlington County, NJ, in 1809 and 1812. Jacob EMONS' sometime co-worker as Martha Furnace was Richard PHILLIPS (b. 1754), possibly the same as the father of Hannah PHILLIPS, who married Joseph JOHNSON on 27 March 1803, in Monmouth Co NJ. The JOHNSONs lived in Toms River, Dover Township in then-Monmouth, now-Ocean County. Joseph JOHNSON's son Charles JOHNSON married Sarah MATHEWS on 18 March 1837. Sarah MATHEWS' father was Garret MATHEWS of Howell (Adelphia), Monmouth Co NJ. His wife was Lydia EMONS. Was Jacob EMONS the father of Joseph JOHNSON's wife Lydia? Is anyone related to this Jacob EMONS?? I am interested in finding the names of his children. Thanks very much, Liz J

This is information I didn't have. Ellis King is not a direct ancestor of mine, but I suspect he may have been a brother of John King, who went to PA, and was my gr gr grandfather. Does anyone know anything about Ellis King's parents or siblings? He was probably the son of Job King, who also occurred in the earlier censuses, but this is just a guess. John King (my ancestor) was born in NJ, possibly in Burlington Co., and had a grandson named Arthur Ellis King. I'm trying to make the connection. Thanks again for your help. Hi, For a long time now I have listed George STOCKHAM as marrying Sarah W. LONG. They had a number of kids. One married a CAKE. Now the death cert for Elizabeth Sarah CAKE, a daughter, indicated that Sarah's maiden name was actually OPDYKE, and not LONG. This Sarah OPDYKE is written up as a descendant of Samuel FARNSWORTH: Bordentown. Special to The Inquirer. BORDENTOWN. Nov. 13.--Mr. and Mrs. George Stockham, two of this city's oldest residents, celebrated their sixty-second anniversary of their marriage at their home on Farns- worth avenue Tuesday. They were married November 9, 1835, by Rev. John C. Harrison, D. D., pastor of the Baptist church here. They have re- sided in the same house ever since. Mr. Stockham was born in Penn's Manor, Bucks county, Pennsylvania, in 1812. Mrs. Stockham is a native of this place and was born in 1813. She is a descendant of Samuel Farns- worth, Bordentown's first settler. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mr. Stockham, and but one survives, Mrs. Edward Knight Cake, of Wash- ington, D. C., who, with her husband, attended the an[n]iversary. The couple are hale and hearty for their advanced age, and delight in relating interesting reminiscences of their early days. While a resident of Philadelphia Mr. Stockham was a member of the Hu- mane Fire Engine Company, Philadel- phia's first volunteer fire company. Mr. and Mrs. John Edwards, relatives of the old couple, and who have also been married sixty-two years, were among those who called to offer con- gratulations. Can anyone tell me of the parentage of Sarah OPDYKE? I haven't a clue. Thanks! Vince Summers
