You might want to contact the Burlington County Historical Society (burlcohistsoc@verizon.net). The Librarian is Annie and they have an excellent Burr genealogy and plenty of Stockton information. Birth records aren't collected for NJ until 1848 so for earlier, you need either church records or family Bibles. I hope you find what you are looking for. Kathy. Thanks very much for all this interesting information. No ,I don`t have the census images or WWI ,WWII images so please send them. Are you sure that Alfred in WWII born 1890 is the same as the one in BUrlington ,WWI draft cards born 1885??. Could it be two different perons? Hopefully the WWII image tell something about it. And if he wanted to be 5 years younger I will think that you have found his death in New York!!. Also interesting to see the obitruary of Sigrid D. Daley which I believed could be the daughter of Alfred. Unfortunately I can`t confirm if she is Alfred`s daughter. It is said that Sigrid was born in Smithville....wher is that? New Jersey? Also her brother isn`t mentioned among the predeceased familymembers. Hello. I`m trying to find descendants of my relative Alfred Johansen. Alfred Peter Herman Johansen was born in Oslo 25 Feb 1885 and emigrated from oslo to New York in may 1905. He was married in US to Sigrid E. Clausen who was born in Norway abt 1887. They were probably married in New York ,and probably lived there in 1910. In 1920 and 1930 they lived somewhere in Burlington County ,New Jersey. They had 2 children 1 John Johansen ,born abt 1909 in New York ,and 2 Sigrid D. Johansen ,born abt 1925 in New Jersey Both children were at home in 1920 and 1930 ,but don`t know more about them after that. I don`t know when or where Alfred or wife Sigrid died either ,but probably NJ. I would appreciate very much if anyone could help find more on this family!!. Thanks in advance for help. Erik in Norway

Hi Erik, I found your relatives in 1920 and 1930 in New Jersey. Do you have copies of the census? I think I found them in 1910 too in NY. I also think I found the marriage--Alfred Johansen to Sigrid Charulen 28 July 1906 in Kings County New York. It is likely that they misread Clausen or it was misspelled. Hello Shelley, My maiden name is Stowell. My father's name was John Delos Stowell. He died September 1962. My twin sister has a Stowell ancestry book that goes waaay back to England and the war of the roses. She is legally blind and cannot confirm that Clara Stowell is in our line. But, she is coming to visit me over Memorial day week-end and will bring the book. I can then confirm if Clara is our relative. Thank you for your effort in trying to contact us. I have several cousins who are very involved in this research. I will make sure the right person get the photographs.
