I just called 609-298-0261, the church office and spoke with a helpful woman who looked it up and gave me the information while I was on the phone. As this grandmother was a triplet, raised as a twin because the third baby died, I also asked about burial and cemetery records for St. Mary's. I want to find the name, if any, of the third baby. They did not have burial records for the time period that I needed but she said she would have the woman who takes care of those records call me on Monday as they were leaving for the day and wouldn't be back till Monday. She said the St Mary's Cemetery is across the street from the Church on Cemetery Lane in Bordentown Township. The Church is in Bordentown City. I have been to the Bordentown cemetery. The Catholic section which must be St Mary's cemetery is behind the Bordentown Cemetery, on the backside opposite of Rt 206. If you go in at the little white guard house, just go straight back and the Catholic section is fenced in separately back there. Or if you go in at the office, go forward and off to the left. It's not very big. The Bordentown Cemetery runs all along Cemetery Lane and I think it is Park ??Street, with the Catholic Cemetery having no street frontage. If any one goes there, would you keep and eye out for any Papendick graves in St Mary's, as I now live 2000 miles away from there. But I doubt there would be a stone. The family did have a number of other children who died, who could be in that cemetery. I have Reeder, Harris and Ayres in the Bordentown cemetery, maybe others, I can't remember and of course the possibility of Papendick in the Catholic section. 3. Hi, JoMac53. The parish cemetery for St. Mary's is across the highway (I think it's Rte 206) from the parish buildings, right next to the Bordentown Cemetery. If I remember correctly, you can drive from St. Mary's church, across 206 and the first right is a street called Cemetery Road. You drive past the secular Bordentown Cemetery and will come to a little white "guard house" at the entrance of St. Mary's. It's a fairly small cemetery and very well kept. Hope you find who you're looking for. By the way, my family's relatives are buried there - Peoples, Grady and Herron. Let me know if there's any relation between us! At that time, Horace listed his address as Asbury Park. My GGrandfather, Wallace Nixon (Horace's youngest brother by 14 years)is buried at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Jacobstown. His two younger sisters, Eva Parker and Edith Hopkins are buried in Pointville Cemetery. I have quite a bit of information on this line, but I'm not at my computer to get it. I also have bits and pieces of things that I printed out and copied over the last several years. There were a ton of Nixons in Burlington County when I lived there as a child. One was the janitor at my elementary school and one drove my kindergarten bus, and one was in my little sister's class. I never knew how any of the relationships worked, although my father assured me that we were all related somehow. When you're 10 and have a huge extended family, keeping track of your own generation is hard enough without trying to keep track of 3 generati! ons before you, but how I wish I had now. Maybe we can try to piece them together. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Collins Funeral Home records, Pemberton, NJ. courtesy Mrs. Elma Eckert, Mt. Holly , NJ 1996 wife's death information lists her as his widow on Dec 20, 1948. I happened to have collected this isolated Nixon "fact" when working through some records donated by Ms.Eckert to the Gloucester County Historical Society. The Funeral home, if it still exists, or if another is operating in the same location, might have a record for where they are both buried and when he died. Location of graves is not always where you might think. Perhaps not where they lived but where other family may have already had plots so convenient when needed in a hurry. Just a suggestion. Another possibility would be contacting Veterans organizations or officer at the County Courthouse, who should keep a record. Good luck with your search.
