Hi Folks. Decided I would ask again since it's been while. My mother's mother was born 9/4/1867 to Malcolm. McMullen and MARTHA JANE WILLS, in Shamong Twp, Burlington County NJ. I will add here what I THINK I know of Martha Jane and her family of Origin. If anyone can connect to ANY of her sibs or her parents please let me know. I have tintypes and a photo of Martha Jane, made in the 1870s. And -I have a photo of Mary Dillett Wills about age 70 made in Philadelphia.[probably 1880-something] I also have two tintypes, a girl Mary Wills and one Annie Wills, probably children of one of Martha's brothers, George James or Moses.[see below] One of these brothers may have married a Margaret, as I have another picture of an elderly woman addressed to my Grandmom signed "Aunt Margaret" in 1907. I seem to have lost a couple of my Gr. Gr. Grandparents, most of the family are buried in the Memorial Cemetery in Beverly. Except Robert and Rebecca Gillis they do not seem to be with the rest of the family. They were Presbyterian, maybe that can have some bearing on there location. If anyone has access to these Gardens Of Repass, I'd appreciate any information you can forward to me. Thank you in advance: Nelson Gillis
Thanks to all who responded to me on this subject.
I just received tavern licenses from 1845, Camden Co., which describes a tavern and inn at Union Township, Gloucester Point, Camden Co. Is there still a Union Township or a Gloucester Point? Anyone know where this is? I think the name of the tavern/inn was Buena Vista House. It was operated many years by members of the WILLS family. Thanks.

I was hoping that some one has come across these names in their Burlington research. I know that Mary Platt, daughter of Daniel was born there abt 1812. She married John Holbert and lived in Phila. There daughter Elizabeth married Edward Ervin. I just got the 1900 census for Phila yesterday and it says that Both of their parents were born in NJ. I had been searching Phila. for ERVIN to no avail. Hope they can be found in NJ. Thank you

Dear Martha, I don't belong to the list you mention, and I don't have any WI connections that I know about. My greatgrandfather, William Blackburn, was born in Ireland in 1840. By 1870 he was in Penn Twp, Westmoreland Co, PA. He married Sarah Matlack Brinton of the Brinton lines you mention. I am descended from George Brinton who married Esther Brinton at Old Swedes, Wilmington DE in 1753, also his son Amos Brinton wife Sarah Darlington, married 1778, also John Brinton who married another Matlack (Sarah). Are you aware that one of the sons of this bunch was named Brinton Darlington ? In view of all these connections, I am intrigued by the possible Lincolnshire Blackbourne/Blackburn information you sent. I have almost no data on my greatgrandfather William Blackburn born Ireland 1840. I have no data but only assume that he was born in Northern Ireland where Quakers from England settled, possibly Armagh. Do you have any further information on your Blackbournes before 1870 that might fit in with the foregoing ? I am copying the lists on this, and am requesting their assistance also. Thank you !!! Dear Jan, THATCHER- I daughter out on Thatcher in 1690 when Jane Thatcher marries William Brinton. Jane is daughter of Richard Thatcher born Uffington, England, died Chester Co PA 1722. Jane died 1755 Birmingham PA. BLACKBURN - I am searching for ancestry of my greatgrandfather, William Blackburn, born Ireland 1840, resided Penn Twp, Westmoreland Co PA from at least 1870, married Sarah MATLACK BRINTON . Other associated BRINTON surnames: SMEDLEY, MERCER, DICKS, HAINES, BORTON, KINTON, BAGLEY, DARLINGTON, more available if you are interested. I don't know if there is a connection with your Blackburns, but I do have NJ connections through some of the HAINES connections. I am copying some of the appropriate lists with this and your inquiry, in case others have input that will be of help to us. Good luck !! Bill Blackburn Mt.
