    3. This is Jacob LAMB the immigrant. On the 1709 Northampton Twp. Census, Jacob LAMB was 38 years old, his wife Ann was 37 years old, daughter Mary was 8 years, daughter Ann was 5 years, and son Jacob was 2 years. I was originally only going to post will abstracts from after the year 1817 as wills before this time have already been abstracted. In light of so many LAMBs, especialy Jacobs and Josephs, I have decided to post abstracts that took place before this, hopefully to allay confusion. This is my own original abstract, so I am not infringing on anyone's copyright. The will number is 1313C-1320C and 2137C-2142C Burlington County wills. Will of Jacob LAMB the immigrant. 1. [NJBurlin] Wm. P. and Geo. W. WELLS, Burr and Sarah STOCKTON--Burl'n Co., NJ; ca. 1845-1864
    2. I have copies of the subject Civil War Pension records in my possession. I'm not sure if I copied these for someone in particular, but if this person belongs to you, please e-mail me and I will send the copies to you. I definitely don't need to have any extra WELLSs floating through my files. According to records, William P. WELLS was born March 2, 1845 to George W. and and Sarah WELLS. He enlisted as a private in Co. D, 12th NJ Volunteers, August 19, 1862. He died July 18, 1864 of wounds received near North Anna River, VA. George and Sarah WELLS had 2 additional children--May E. WELLS, b. July 15, 1850 and Samuel A. WELLS, b. October 12, 1852. George W. WELLS died January 1854. Sarah WELLS married Burr STOCKTON who was also wounded in the Civil War. The pension on Wm. P. WELLS was filed by his Mother, Sarah STOCKTON. She said that he was her sole support. It looks like she had 5 more children w/Burr STOCKTON, but none are listed in this file. It appears that Burr STOCKTON was also receiving a pension. Their mailing address was in Medford, Burlington Co., NJ. In a deposition from Sarah, she states that prior to enlistment, William worked for Isaac HAINES in Medford. If these persons are familiar to anyone on the list, please let me know. Thanks, Gloria Cossentine

    1. [NJBurlin] Photos late 1800's--assorted names
    2. Hello, I was going through some old photographs belonging to my great grandparents, Sarah Frances VANSCIVER (1845-1923) and James Harrison COOMBS (1846-1933). They lived in Burlington Twp, Bristol PA for a few years and then in Willingboro. My grandmother labeled these photos as friends of the family--are they familiar to anyone? I remember someone on the list was researching PETERS--perhaps this is a relative? Freda PETERS--friend of Sarah Frances Hattie NORTH--neighbor in Willingboro Dorothy KIRK--this is of a little girl, circa 1900? Charlotte Carr TILMAN or FILMAN--friend of Sarah Frances William Deacon PRICKETT--James Harrison's best friend J. MCCORKLE (gentleman) Mrs MCKELVEY--friend of James Harrison Any connections? 1. Re: [NJBurlin] DELANCO
    2. Hi Bette, I grew up in Delanco. In the 1800's it used to be a part of Willingboro as did Beverly, but it is a tiny little town on its own now! It is between Riverside and Beverly if your map shows them. It is along the Delaware River and the Rancocas Creek divides Riverside from Delanco. I am not good at describing things well when it comes to geography so I hope this helps. You could try going to netfind, go to maps and type in Delanco to see if that helps. Good luck! Kathy Karn

Don't know why this happens. There did have to be someone to get a survivor's burial check for the person to show up on the list. <http://www.rootsweb.com/> The actual advanced database page is at: <http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi> Hope that may work for someone out there having trouble. A committee was appointed at once to speak to John Shinn and his good wife, Jane; Restore Lippincott and his good wife. Hannah; and the obstreperous young people, James Shinn, and his fiance, Abigail Lippincott. This incident caused a great amount of talk throughout the community and led the committee to probe the matter to the bottom. On the 5th of the 2nd month, 1697 (April 5, 1697), the Church was doubtless crowded to hear the result. The committee reported that the young people were determined to marry, but not having their parents' consent they could not pass meeting. Old John Shinn and old Restore Lippincott walked out under a stately beech and began a discussion of the question. Their wives soon joined them. and in a short time peace was restored and parental consent accorded. On the same day James and Abigail declared their intention to marry before the assembled multitude and were applauded by the younger element who were in attendance. One month later they appeared the second time and were set at liberty by the Church. The marriage occurred shortly afterwards at the house of Restore Lippincott in the presence of a large assembly of the first people of the community." 3. Where could I find records of a Justice of the Peace? My grandfather Joseph Wallace Johnston was a Justice of the Peace in Moorestown, and Maple Shade NJ. According to my mother's birth certificate he went by Wallace as first name. Possibly due to his Aunt Macey Wallace (maybe his favorite Aunt) who was born in Ireland. I believe he was also in the insurance business. I have never seen a picture of him as he died before my mom and dad were married. I would like to know also if there are pictures of Justice of the Peace in NJ.? He died in MoorestownNJ on March 19,1938. Lived in Moorestown 10 years before his death during which time he was in Insurance and Justice of the Peace. Any help greatly appreciated. 3. Just wanted to let everyone know that there is another old document from Burlington NJ on e-bay. This time it is a Quaker Marriage Certificate from 1829. There is a picture of the document showing about I think 58 names from the Burlington area. You might want to check it out to see if any of your surnames appear on it. It can be found by typing in: Quaker Marriage Cert. 1829 Burlington, NJ. in the e-bay search box. I hope it turns out to be a member of someones family on the list! I just wonder how all this stuff winds up in the hands of collectors! If it were a part of my heritage I could never part with it!-Cheryl _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
