Hello all---these messages were posted on another Rootsweb list that I belong to....I'm passing it along as I believe it to be something we should all be aware of. There are three messages in all. A friend of mine had checked it; she's a subscriber, and she found my mother's maiden name. She innocently copied it all for me, etc. and the presented it to me as a gift, and told me that I could PURCHASE the same information and more from them; they had family group sheets on my family. The information she FOUND and paid to subscribe to was the exact information I had sent to a cousin (ERRORS and all!) which have since been corrected in MY genealogy. He had naively sent it in to Everton! I wrote Everton regarding this, and I believe they have taken it off of their list of information (At least that's what they wrote to me!)

I hope that all received the 1709 Northampton census (complete) which was sent by another list member. If you did not receive it, will forward. There are double the number of people whom I sent. Thanks. One last question. For Jacob LAMB , the progenitor, some people have Ann STOKES for wife. Does anyone have good documentation for that, or is that just conjecture? Thanks. Regards, Donna Ristenbatt ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DRistenbatt@dejazzd.com
I was next going to post the will abstract for Joseph LAMB SR., third son of Jacob LAMB and Ann, the progenitors, but there have been numerous questions about the Jacob LAMB married first to Elizabeth SHINN and second to Beulah RIDGWAY. My understanding is that all children belong to Elizabeth SHINN. I have noted that there are two different genealogies, one a SHINN and one a RIDGWAY genealogy and one has *son* Jacob married to Susanna RIDGWAY and one to Ann RIDGWAY. The WILL has son, Jacob, married to Ann -?-. I have Ann MERRITT. Any clarification with good documentation welcomed. To further clarify, the Jacob of this will is the SON of Joseph LAMB Sr., whose will abstract I will do next. NOTE: I have listed another son, Joseph LAMB, who died in 1823, 3 years before this will. Will of Jacob LAMB, written 26 Sept. 1826; Inventory: 9 April or August 1827. Burlington County wills # 13636C. This is the final part of the 1709 census. I am not certain that my late aunt copied *all* the families. I believe I counted 19. Is that all Northampton would have had in 1709? I will try to get back to posting some LAMB wills as soon as possible. The Hopewell family lived in Burlington county in the late 1700s. Does anyone know anything about this family? I would appreciate any information concerning them. I am also seeking any information on a John Clemens who resided in Chester Township in the late 1700s. Does any one have information as to Rev War service of men from that area? John moved from NJ to Harrison County VA(WV) around 1789. Thanks for any help. Jessie ,Calif
On yesterday's census, there were two difficult names under the Edward GASKILL family. Someone has helped with those. The one name was Zerubbabel, age 11 and Provided, age 9. Thank you. Regards, Donna Ristenbatt ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DRistenbatt@dejazzd.com
This is Part 3 of the 1709 Northampton Twp. Census. This section includes families which my late aunt did not note, only the number of children. I have been able to check will abstracts, however, and believe I have the correct families, based on info which my aunt did give. I would like to respectfully suggest that if anyone has items to add about these families, that they post the comments to the list, rather than to me. The only families which are mine are the LAMB and BUDD families (So far at least! One never knows further on down the road of genealogical research! :)) I am sure that if anyone has ancestors from these families, that they would greatly appreciate your additional comments. WOOLMAN: John, age 54 Elizabeth, age 54 (My aunt has 5 children noted in 1709) From John WOOLMAN's will abstract, written 26 March 1711, proved 30 April 1718: John WOOLMAN of Northampton Twp.; Wife, Elizabeth; Children: Samuel, Elizabeth, Mary, Ann, Hannah and Hesther. [Donna note: Apparently one extra child since 1709. I have noted, too, that some people think because there is an Ann, that there could not be a Hannah in a family. This is not the case. Also, a John WOOLMAN married an Elizabeth BOURTON in 1686 according to Burlington County Marriages.] WILLS: John, age 48 Hope, age 44 (My aunt has noted there were 9 children, ages 19-3 on the 1709 census.) Based on the will abstracts, I could not find the proper John. There was a John WILLS who married a Hope DELEFOSS in 1682. There is a will for an 86 year old John WILLS in 1745, but he was married to an Elizabeth, and there is a John WILLS who married an Elizabeth FRAMPTON in 1701. There was another 1714 will for a John WILLS who was married to an Elizabeth. It is possible that the John WILLS married to the Elizabeth in 1745 had married her as a second wife, but could not be certain. WILLS: Daniel, age 50 Mary, age 40 (Aunt has 7 children, ages 17-5 on 1709 census) Here is *possible* will. There were many Daniel WILLS, and no wife mentioned in this one, but 7 children. Written 25 Jan. 1727/1728. Proved 1 February 1727/1728. Daniel WILLS of Northampton Twp. Children: Daniel, Joseph, James, Elizabeth, Ann, Margett and Hannah, plus son-in-law or step-son, Levi SHINN. This Daniel was of Northampton Twp., but one of his bequests was a home farm of 160 acres in Hunterdon Co, which is worthy of note. CRIPPS: Nathaniel, age 42 Grace, age 35 John, age 5 To be continued. Regards, Donna Ristenbatt ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DRistenbatt@dejazzd.com

Furthermore, I have innocently posted several responses on those forums. Today, I have amended the link on Rockingham's Queries Index Page to read as follows: **If you want still another place to search and post, try the Rockingham county message board on [ genforum.genealogy.com/nh/rockingham/ ] WARNING!! Any information which you share on GenForum's message boards may be copied by Genealogy.com [/FamilyTreeMaker.com] and sold by them for profit either as data included on a monthly/annual subscription or as a CD for purchase. Much of this information is totally unreliable. Caveat emptor [Buyer beware]. In order to see what, if any, information Genealogy.com has acquired from your voluntary contributions, you will first need to subscribe to their service available to paying members only.** I am SO angry I could spit!! Until I started checking up on this fiasco about my father's pedigree, I had NO clue that Genealogy.com was doing this. I want to declare WAR! I can't get through to their leaders, but I sure would like to get through to their potential customers and unwitting voluntary contributors. Please feel free to copy and paste [or send] this warning wherever, or to whomever, you think might do the most good. You may post it as your own message or as a quote from me, whichever you prefer. Your help will be greatly appreciated. -- Dick Marston, Rockingham County, NH, GenWeb Project County Coordinator, [ http://www.geocities.com/rockingham_nh/ ]; Administrator: MARSTON, NHMERRIM, and NHROCKIN Mail Lists. ==== NHMERRIM Mailing List ==== RootsWeb Mailing Lists Archives [http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl] Merrimack County, NH, GenWeb Project [http://w3.nai.net/~lmerrell/merrimack.html] List Administrator: RMarston@pacbell.net ============================== Ancestry.com Genealogical Databases http://www.ancestry.com/rd/rwlist2.asp Search over 2500 databases with one easy query! --part1_49.8ebdf67.27e7aa83_boundary--
